1929 Ludwig&Ludwig SuperSensitive w/inlay

All original down to every screw, washer, and calf heads, which are off the drum. I can only theorize this Drum was a special order for the original owner, A.S.M., which is etched on one panel. The only other similar example I have seen is in the Currotto Collection. This is a single ply mahogany shell w/re-rings and is 5x14. This cleaned up so well, I was stunned! Enjoy! It could be a one of a kind!

Currently, I am researching any possible ties to the initials A.S.M. or R.S.M. on the shell(it could be either).

I have my "The Ludwig Book" by Rob Cook handy and have determined possible artists from this era to be:

A.S.M:

Avis McDonald - 1928-32

R.S.M.:

Ray Mann - 1932-33

Ray McKinley - 1948-63 (no, couldn't be, could it?)

Reef McGarvey - 1941

Raymand Munroe - 1926-1930

If by some dumb luck, anyone might be able to shed some light for me, by all means, please send me a PM! Excited

That drum brings me back to the very early days of interest in the resurgence of vintage drums and a lot of the items that showed up in the Not So Modern Drummer publication that was initially a paper mailer. I've never seen one like that though. You've got a very rare piece there. Probably a great sounding drum too.

Wow what a cool snare! You sure have some nice gems. Mahogany must sound nice and warm. Do you have a picture of the "ASM" panel. Would be cool to see how they etched them in. Congrats on the amazing find here.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
