1924-28 leedy (indianapolis) black elites family portrait

Loading...

Hi,

Here’s a family portrait of the 1924-28 Leedy (Indianapolis) Black Elites. All four Elites have Presto strainers so the dating per Harry Cangany’s book THE GREAT AMERICAN DRUMS and my good friend and fellow collector Bill Wanser puts it at 1924-28.

1924-28 LEEDY 4 x 14 ENGRAVED BLACK ELITE

(This drum can also be found on page 62 of Harry’s Book)

1924-28 LEEDY 5 x 14 ENGRAVED BLACK ELITE

1924-28 LEEDY 6 x 14 ENGRAVED BLACK ELITE

1924-28 LEEDY 7 x 14 ENGRAVED BLACK ELITE

Certain shell depths are more rare than others. The 5 x 14 is the most common size. It is a toss-up between the 4 x 14 and 6 x 14 as to the 2nd most rarest of the Elite sizes but the rarest of all is the 7 x 14 Elite.

Enjoy!
