1920's snare drum? Identification help please

Loading...

Hi all. Can anyone help identify this snare drum please? I've looked through all the galleries and googled the snot out of it but am nowhere nearer, largely on account of the complete lack of recognisable lugs, snare strainer or badges.

The lugs are attached to the hoops and tensioned from the snare side only. The snare strainer is a rudimentary wing nut affair and the (presumably oblong) badge is missing. There's a metal arm attached the batter side hoop adjacent to the "snare strainer" which doesn't appear to actually serve any function, unless for a marching snare strap attachment perhaps?

Dimensions are 13 5/8" diameter and approx 3" depth. Currently fitted with goat or calf skin heads (not original).

Hi, thanks for replying. I've uploaded close ups of the various mechanisms. There seems to to be 2 surplus holes drilled into the snare side hoop that I'm not sure are original and there's a hole above the air vent that is curious in its redundancy.
