Yes. It may be that it was Gretsch (the USA distributor) who put those MEDIUM ink stamps on once they came to the USA. Drumaholic (Bill Hartrick) is the expert on these old Ks. I'm just letting people know of some experiments which are probably of general interest to the vintage cymbal community.

An 80's Zildjian rock ride 18" or so should do it.

Those were really heavy and stiff, and usually cracked easier than a medium crash.... (And they sound way high pitch and tinny to me- never liked them)

That could be had cheap (pre cracked!) so might be worth hunting down.

Maybe I'll start looking at the cracked offerings in the 'bay and get them repaired....
