From Atlantaskins

That seller is delusional.

Yeah, I believe his starting price of $10K is, in the words of Bob Uecker, juuuust a bit high.

Well, we know $33.00 won't take it.

Haha! No, that would be "Juuuust a bit low." It'd be a "deal of the century" if it went for $33.

I wish that sellers like this one would give us a break and lay off the "Holy Grail" hype. Whatever it is or isn't is strictly subjective. Although rare, this one for me doesn't come close to that level. If it was a thin drum set model, and sounded killer, then just maybe. But this is simply an orphaned concert cymbal.

Going back 2 owners, this cymbal was mine. I bought it at the Chicago Drum Show 3 years ago for $300. We'll see, but I don't think this one is going to sell for much more. $1000 is out of the ballpark.

Ive put my bid on the cymbal of $700 another guy that keeps popping everyone off has now taken the lead on $710. Thats me done. Its probably worth $1000 max but i get the feeling its being bumped up through all the hype. Ive bought and sold for 12yrs on ebay and 20 yrs before ebay so i know a thing or two about the bidding system of propping the bids up. Great looking cymbal probably great sounding but not remotely worth any more than a grand......sean

I may be in the minority, but I don't think any cymbal is worth even remotely close to a grand.

Maybe we're re-entering the age of irrational exuberance again but its hard to believe that some people are willing to part with that kind of money for something that they can't even hear first. It actually sounds like a chime tuned to a perfect "C". with almost no overtones. I think somebody will not be happy.

I sold it to one of the guys at Maxwell's who already had another 18"Con. K. to pair it up with, but it didn't work out well with what he had.

I'm curious why you're bidding early in the auction, especially if you're concerned about all the attention being paid to it. Isn't it better to let it go 'til the end & try & and snipe it at the last second? Just wondering......marko
