Here it is oddball. Lots of impurities, handhammered. Definitely not a rotocast cymbal. Has a knurled edge all the way around. 1118gm.
16" Sonor Tosco
I would love to have that and a 20" with my Phonics. As far as I know, Zildjian did not stamp the logo for Sonor, wich sucks of course because it`s not a very difficult or expensive thing to do at the factory !!

At one point in history, both Sonor and Trixon shared the distribution of A.Zildjian , in Germany. It looks to me from the n.o.s. Trixon A. Zildjians that I have , that the Trixon stamp was added afterwards. It is in various places related to the factory A. Zildjian stamp. I would assume Sonor did the same.
This cymbal , I think was stamped at the Tosco factory. The impression of SONOR and TOSCO are the same size, font and depth(mallets too) and are carefully aligned in an arc over a line design-------- the Sonor rainbow, with a pot of gold at one end, gently ascending and then descending over the Tosco horizon. Why, the future was as bright as this cymbal. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be the case for Tosco.
Sonor has a very long history selling Turkish Zildjians. Goes way back !!
Sonor made inhouse cymbals before in their foundry, But I can put a Zildjian on a Sonor in the Thirties and I think Twenties !! Seventies and Sixties too !! I don`t know about now though !!
