14" x 14" floor tom ID

Loading...

I have a 14" x 14" floor tom that I was curious as to the make. It's Japanese and is an 8- lug model which made me think it an early Pearl. It has been painted baby-poo brown on the outside AND inside though the timber looks dark

Thanks for any help

Looks like Pearl made. early 60s.

Take a lug off. it may have "PEARL" stamped on inside.

Does the shell have re-rings? It was 67-68ish when Pearl made the transition from the thinner shells with rings (before this time) to the thicker shells with no rings (after this time).

Though it is very general - it is at least a starting point for dating.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
