14 x 9 inch Slingerland snare?

Loading...

G-day,

I tried to research this snare a bit but can't seem to find one this deep. Can anyone give me a clue as to it's value? I can't find a serial #. The badge is copper and black. Made in Chicago. Dimensions are 9 X 14".

I also have a brass Leedy. I'll send that pic soon.

Thanks much for your help,

~P~~~

Is that the rim to rim measurement? or the shell itself without the rims?

Thanks

Rim to rim. AH!! Thus the odd size. So, that makes it a 7 1/2"? Judging w/out removing the rims, it seems to be so.

If you needed a serial #, where might it be?

Thanks again,

I guess in either direction you have a 7" x 14" or 8" x 14" which were catalog sizes.

The model at one time was called the Gene Krupa Model in the 50's and early 60's which I think your drum falls into based on the badge. It was also called a Radio King. Mainly the 3-point strainer and single ply shell if that is the case.

I can't tell what the finish is, but looks painted white??

Value is difficult without better pictures. It should have a one ply shell also???

Let us know those details and get a closer picture of the condition of the finish and hardware.
