10" 1960's Rogers Tom, does it exist? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Anybody ever see a 10" early-mid 60's Rogers tom in blue sparkle? Did they make that size?

I have a 1963 Holiday, 20", 12", 14" and 14" snare. The lugs have been changed to 64' beaver tail so I don't want B&B lugs.

Did Rogers even make a 10" tom back then?

I don't see a Rogers 10" tom until the 1974 Studio X set, w/ a 7X10. ( Of course, there were always special orders, but this is not likely)

Sling and Ludwig were into the School/Marching band thing,so you might find a tenor tom single headed to convert,Rogers did the concert band stuff, developed a great Tympani, but I don't know how much marching /tenor drum stuff they did,but if they did you might find one to convert.I am sure one of the rogers gurus on here can tell you.

I have put bottom heads on a few Rogers concert toms. The 10's all sounded great. Bit tricky with the lugs. I have been planning for a while to buy a shell from Precision and make one. I see they now do sell a 10 x 7" - used to only be a 10 x 8 size - but the 3 ply option seems to have disappeared. I wonder if Keller still make 3 ply?

Do you think I could get a close match on the wrap if I were to convert a concert tom? I have blue sparkle.

Did you cut a bottom bearing edge on that concert tom?

Last I heard, Keller will only sell something like a minimum of 10 drumsets at a time. Keller is actually right down the street from where my studio is. I did a photo shoot for them in 2004ish. My Rogers are Clevland I think, (1963).

How'd ya do it? It seems the shell would be too short to accomodate 2 rows of beavertails. Got pics? Fill me in!
