Anyone here ever seen one (Vintage 60s-70s)? Wondering if they ever specifically made these in the 3-ply with re-rings.

The only 10 incher I've seen in a MIJ (Star) catalogue is this 'Kinder drums' ('Kinder' is the German word for children - I've no clue why Star called it this way, not using the word child).
I'm just about to switch a 10" Sonor GlobalBeat rack tom to a 'vintage 10" tom in red sparkle' to make it matching to my small club kit.
Ralf
This is my current project:
I'll add a Sonor 'Global Beat' rack tom in 10" (with 5 lugs) and strip it.
Searched and fortunately found an old 12" tom (6 lugs) with the matching wrap, took the wrap of this tom and - miraculously ;) - the sections between the lugs fitted with the ones from the 10 incher (well, arithmetical this must happen with a 12" size).
In my case the holes for the fixing screws at the lugs do not differ too much between the toms, so almost no traces will be seen after the re-wrapping.
Requirement: the shells of both drums shall be in round, so that the wrap is some kind of even and not distorted and will suit to the new smaller tom.
I'll make a pic of my rewrapped 10" rack tom with a genuine vintage red sparkle finish in short.
Ralf
Here's the result:
a rewrapped 10" Tom of the Sonor Global Beat series, new finish: a vintage red sparkle foil taken from a junk 12" tom. Besides from the section which will be positioned next to me in the setup, there are almost no traces which give a hint to a rewrapping and a 'used wrap'.

Resolution is not the best - but looks pretty much as good as new (restored :)
What is the wood type/ply/rings?
Wondering if the shell type is going to matter all that much when I am adding to an MIJ Phil. Mahog. kit??
Opinions?
