well time flies for sure, i want to thank every one here for the comrade, knowledge, appreciation for the art of vintage drumming and vintage drummers and to the warmth ive received from the vdf members this year, here it is a special place for old geezers like me to hang out and discuss, and show the drums we grew up with and their restorations, i must say since the acquiring of my first kit i lost as a teen i have formed a genuine appreciation for vintage drums and the people who play and built them we have lost some greats this year and i will remember them by my collection and when i play the them, as a kid they inspired me to what i am today, i'm no one famous, but family man and a drum guy just the same way i came in this world and this will be the way i go out . Again i cant say enough about the vdf so enough of the soap box .

Thanks again gary

merry xmas to all

and to all a good playing drum

i just love the drummer boy this time of year he says it best, for the Christ Child is truly born......

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Amen and amen. Glad you are a part of this wonderful place. It's been a privilege conversing with you and following your insights.

Drumming is a gift, like most all talents. It's what we do with our gifts that helps to define who we are. So long as we remember and acknowledge the origin of those gifts, and channel them for their intended purpose, we should enjoy a happy and joyous life. Stay blessed and groove till the Earth moves.

Merry Christmas to you (jaghog) and everyone on the formn also. I think I will be here for a long time as I have fallen in love with the old drums and the thrill of finding them. Its good to know there is a place we can all go to get the help and advice needed to continue our work.

Merry Christmas, may you all have a safe, healthy and happy holiday.

Remember, dont drink and drum!

I'm certainly a "geezer" too! It's been great to find this forum and to have the support of members who truly love vintage drums... especially from our beloved american companies. I've met many great people on this forum and am always learning. A big "Happy Holidays" to all at VDF! -Mark x-mas3

Well, every one of you have summed it up nicely for me, with ribbons!

Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year to all.

Oh yeah... all bets are off if you're between me and Ringo's missing Premier kit at a yard sale for fifty bucks... Eye Ball

jag, Good to see you and "know" you. This forum has enlightened and endeared me to all aspects of drums and drumming, even though I suck at playing. At least I have the skills to restore them for others' enjoyment.

I am grateful for this site and for all of you. I spend a part of almost everyday here with you guys and that time to me is time well-spent. You teach me, you make me think, and many times, you make me laugh my a$$ off.

For all that, I thank you and wish you all the happiest and most peaceful of holiday seasons.

Merry Christmas vintage drum buddies :Santa:

You guys are the best! So thoughtful, kind and inspiring. It can only get better in 2012. May God bless you with every good gift this season. Check out this wonderful video produced by a young Canadian drummer that sums it all up as jaghog has pointed out so well...
