Absolutely gorgeous. That's the first bowling ball Ludwig I've seen that I really really like.

Thanks! Some people would say that particular wrap takes a little while to get use too... I actually like it...

Beautiful ! My favorite finish from Ludwig of that era. I love both blue and black versions
of this oyster wrap. The W&A snare looks like it belonged to the kit originally, and is a dead
on match. Congrats on such a great kit !

cheers,
Rob

Are those Rogers lugs on the snare?
Very Nice Looking Kit.

Thanks.

Yes, now that I look at the lugs closer they are Rogers lugs...

By the 1960s & 70s W&A was still a very small East cost drum manufacture that produced some musical instruments for themselves and made metal drum parts for several major American drum companies such as Rogers, Ludwig & Gretsch. I once read that W&A would traded parts for parts or parts for shells and even parts for wraps... which created their "Profection" retail drum line.

So it wouldn't be too unusual to see some crazy drum combinations within their "Profection" line such as my mixed parts 5x14 snare drum.

It's funny, I searched for years & years for that matching wooden Jazzfest and then this cool W&A pops up out of the blue.

I'm normally super anal over 100% matching drums but sometimes after about ten+ years of searching I tend to drop my guard and just give in.

The wrap is sooooooo close to my kit that I'm totally satisfied and I'm glad I took a chance.

Congratulations! The snare matches so right with the entire set. I didn't know there were bowling ball finish with keystone badge. The bass drum looks like 18"x14" instead of 18"x12" typical of Jazzettes. Spectacular!!!
