Hey guys,

just got my hands on a slingerland drum set, just wondering if you guys could help me identify it. From what I can tell it was made during the late 60's. Just wondering if I could get info as to what wood its made out of, price estimate, and other cool information like that. One of it's serial numbers is 188070 on the bass drum. Just wanna know what I'm dealin with. Oh it also has a floor tom, I just didn't include it in the picture!

Thanks a lot!

Gmet

EDIT: Just thought I'd add this to the original post.

Okay here are the dimensions!

Snare: 14 x 5

Mounted Tom: 13 x 8.5

Floor Tom: 16 x 15

Bass Drum: 20 x 13

The serial number on the bass drum is 188070, the serial number on the snare drum is 187731, on the mounted tom it's 221999, and on the floor tom it's 216893. Hope this all helps! Would love to know exactly what this is.

Nice old set of Slingies! Your shells are 3-ply. Most likely mahogany outer ply, poplar middle ply, maple inner ply, and solid maple reinforcing rings.

Nice drums!! I would offer that "just eye them" probably won't get you the information you seek, and most are more than happy to provide it!!

If you could take the five minutes to measure 'em up again, including lengths, that would go a long way towards a proper identification!!

Just some friendly advice!!

Could be a Modern Jazz Outfit like THIS ONE pictured in the 1969 catalog, but with a 3-ply wooden student model snare.

Sorry guys, not looking to sell it. It was given to me as a gift and I kinda realized that this would be a nice set to match with the jazzy style I need at my college. It seemed really nice though, the guy kept it in great condition. When I move on to another set I'm gonna give it right back to him. I'll get the proper information in a ocuple days thanks for looking at it!

Sorry for double posting but what's interesting to note about it is the combination of a tom mounting system and the cymbal mounting system on the bass drum. never seen anything like it!

Not too familiar with old drums, are you? ;)

There were pretty common up through the 1970s or so.
