I think yes- definitely collectible, but the market will be smaller and more specialized than your regular vintage drum collecting community. I myself love playing a three piece sit down cocktail kit that uses a FT as a bassdrum and ft combined - this simple set lets me omit bringing the bass drum to the show. Slingerland perfected this idea in the late 40s and early 50s with their bebop combo cocktail:

The amazing thing about this kit design is that is was intended to be able to convert from a regular horizontal bass drum or a cocktail easily. I think it`s genius and I`ve copied it myself with a Fibes 16x18 and FTs of other sizes as well.
