Premier 4 Piece Info Needed

Hi There.
I've just come across this Premier Kit. Its 4 piece. 12;16 Toms. 14 snare & 22 kick in a Sparkle red finish. I suspect it is a 60's 54 Outfit. There are no serial numbers.
Can anyone shed some more light on this kit please-year, model, colour name, asking price? Shells are in great condition. There are still bits of the original hardware-throne, pedal and tom mount. Probably have to mount the 12"on a snare stand.

Hello stefsa...and to the forum! I'm not up on Premier drums, but there are others on this forum who are very familiar with them and should respond soon. I do like that snare drum, though!

I think you posted this earlier on one of the Premier Facebook groups. Someone there will know. Sean (from the UK) on here is a Premier guy with a lot of knowledge, so is FayFay (think that's the correct username), from New Zealand.

nice set. 54 outfit seems accurate and late 50s- early 60s with that Super Ace snare. Shells will be birch with beech reinforcing rings. The sizes for the toms will be pre-international but replacements are still made by Remo. As to value, Premier are probably a bit undervalued possibly due to the odd tom sizes and subsequent hassle of ordering replacement heads and possibly because they are not American.

Thanks for that info! I really like that Super Ace snare drum! The "diamond chrome" still looks great, too!

Late 50's, Super Ace was replaced by Royal Ace about 1960

Hello welcome to the forum. Dukemaya and Fayray have hit it right on the head with the info. All the drums look to be in great shape. One damper on bass drum seems to be missing. Also tape on snare wires could mean wires not put on correctly. These are easy fixes. Goto www.drumarchive.com and look up premier kits you will see that model......sean.....Some pics from drumarchive which give you the info as explained on this kit.
