This guy is very delusional with his price. If it was one of the five original "monster" kits built by Howie Oliver, then yes, he could get that price.

Yes, it was AFAIK.
Once Ludwig heard of or saw "The Hal Monster Kit",
Ludwig put it into production.
"The Monster Kit" was Hal's concept.
He wanted to be able to play "melodies" on the toms.
