I love these first generation Superstar drums. Yours look great! I had a 6pc Superstar in Cherry Wine from the mid 80's. Great drums!

Cheers guys! Yes, apparently it wasn't released in the US in that finish, just the more common sunburst popularised by Billy Cobham. He played one like this on a UK clinic back then and the story attached to this kit is that they were THE drums used then. It obviously made sense for him to use a kit from a Tama dealer in the UK, which explains why he would be playing a kit not released in the US. I've no way of proving any of this however!

Great looking drums. Some of the best drums around even by todays standards. Tama produced really fine drums in the 70's.

Cheers Sean. I've never actually played both bass drums at the same time, as I'm a double pedal guy, however, the bass drum sounds fantastic - great punch but warmth too.
