Question Vintage Ludwig deal - Need help!
Hello.
I talked to someone who has a friend that has a Ludwig vintage drum set. The guy told me he accepts offers and pretends to sell it. He plays guitar and he knows at least that this kits are valuable. He sent me some pictures of the kit that I will post below.
Can you guys please help me identify the year, model, and give your opinion about the condition, possible damages, missing parts, modifications (holes drilled, replaced parts etc.), and other significant info.
Please give me your opinion about the value of this kit, as it is and after restoration, and how much will it cost to restore it. (don't forget this is in Europe)
I am excited about it, I really want to take it home and give it some love, so my offer needs to be effective.
All info is important!
Thank you very much!

I would say they are mid to late 1960's based on the badge and interiors. Overall they look in good condition and wouldn't need much restoration. Just a good cleaning. All I see missing is the mount on the bass drum for the cymbal L-arm. The bass pedal and hi-hat stand look newer, and I'm not sure the snare stand maker. The Paiste 200 hats are low end from the 1980's. That was actually my first set of Hi-Hats, not a bad sound, but nothing too collectible.

Thanks Jay. I am concerned about the Ludwig kit and snare, the hardware and cymbals are not important to me. Anyway, the guy will prefer to sell all together, so I should make an offer for everything including those.

Yeah, everything ArchxAngel says. The outfit is referred to as Super Classic set, with a Supraphonic snare drum. Serial number indicates late 1967 or early 1968.
They appear to be pretty grungy and a bit rusty. A good cleaning wouldn't hurt. I have a set just like them, same finish, same era, and it sounds great.
The outfit will probably sound good when fixed up.
