here's the big frankenkit next to the baby breakbeats kit. the bass drum on the one is the same size as the floor tom on the other--16" : )

this is a pic of a snare i picked up at guitar center to try to match with the MIJ/Ludwig(?) bass drum kit. the wood is close, but darker on the snare. can you guys tell me anything about it?

That new one probably makes the frankenstein kit sound like a toy!lol. Looks prettier too. But that 26 tho!! Thats gotta boom! Theres no question in my mind, thats a ludwig that someone evidently put a mount where the badge used to be. Which is lame...but it's a 26. One of these days I may have to try one out. I have a 28 and a few 24s, but no 26s. That snare is a pre serial number ludwig. Most likely 1961 or 62..That magic marker number inside is not the serial number..
