Good old dawn dish for starters then depending in residue try a good mineral oil and if that does not break it loose try a denatured alcohol wash

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I peeled off the wrap from the hang tom at my last visit to the rehearsal space. It off pretty easy, and peeled off parts off the other drums right after just to properly see whats under.

the 12" hang tom: Looks like blue oyster Pearl.
the 16" floor tom: White Marine Pearl.
the bass drum: White marine Pearl.

The hang tom was in good condition when it came to the finnish but i noticed that the bearing edge wasn't totally even, and that it also had lost it's grip from the Shell at one spot. Looked around a bit here and thought that i could try to:

Get all the hardware off from all the drums.
Rip all that wooden furnature post Fabrice stuff off.
Getting the Shells Clean from glue (anything i should make sure to NOT use during this procedure?)
Use some glue (just Wood glue perhaps) and clips to get that bearing edge(s) on the right Place all the way around.
Even it out (not cut it, just sandpaper it so that it stands real flat on the ground) with a large really fine sand paper?

Are any of these procedures real risky dont-go-there-just-****ing-hire-a-proffesional stuff or do you Think Í'm ok to go? Off course, after getting the right Equipment and information about it...

Will make sure I get you people some better Pictures soon, thanks for all the help.

Common sense will prevail! Just take your time. Please post some after pictures so we can see how the set looks. Best of look removing that eye-sore of a wrap from these classic drums. Congrats on a good score!

Excessive heat/abrasion, acetone. That's all I can think of NOT to use...

Looking forward to it!
