Sonor Teardrop help and parts!

Loading...

Hello everyone!

This is my first Sonor set and I am very excited!

I just picked these up and started taking them apart to clean. I've been looking around for as much information as I can.

Based on what I've seen, I know I am missing the cymbal arm, as well as the tom arm. Other than that I've got a couple tension rods missing, and the rubber feet for the floor tom.

These are pretty clean for the most part, and from what I can tell everything is in line with other late 60s drums I've seen. I would love to hear from the experts if I am wrong though!

My biggest question is about the wrap.. I haven't seen this color, and the way it overlaps in two places (pictured) seems a bit odd.

If anyone has any leads on parts please let me know!

Thanks!

It`s all original to me, wrap is correctly lapped on the BD, the color is Emerald (code-MF)

Find the parts and you got a classic from May 1969.

You can visit sonormuseum.com for teardrop parts info. More there than in here.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Sorry to contradict. I am from Germany and what he did with his teardrop kit is NOT what we are talking here about ...

It's true: if you want contact with someone who had distroyed a fully functional wrap, he's the guy for it.

In general, this German forum (btw: I'm a member there, but NOT for vintage stuff!) is NOT special when it comes to vintage. The most members are much too young to appreciate vintage stuff.

You'd better stay here, or ask experts over here:

Thanks, Ralf!

I agree, what he did is not what I'm looking to do; but he does have some great pictures showing the details of the drums!

I've been using the sonormuseum site and they have been very helpful. So has everyone here!

I've finished putting mine back together and will post pictures soon!

I recommend you also join the Sonor Museum Forum. For all of us Sonor fans of old and new we hang out there :)

BTW I have also been to the Sonor factory while I lived in Germany. They have a cool museum on location which I recommend along with the tour.

I am new to the forum. I have an early 60's Sonor Teardrop kit & I have been looking for 8 x t-rods & claws for a 22" bass drum. Can anyone help or send me in the right direction? I have been searching for weeks. Found some & ebay & someone out bid me while I was a sleep. It was not a nice way to wake up this morning.

The best to all & thank you.
