Default Help Identify - 60's - 70's Ludwig Drums/Kit
Need help identifying these drums, All Ludwig I think, not well taken care, some missing parts, etc.. I think the LoTom and Kick are from the same kit / era:

Reference the following links for pics too many high res to post in message: https://goo.gl/photos/HrRb2Vj6d9hTAED28

Kick is 20x14 - No badge, missing front hoop and associated tension rod casing/rods. Stamp inside AUG 1965 M. The previous owner(s) crudely sanded 2/3 of the drum. Straight spurs. Mid-late 60's tom arm mount?

LoTom is 16x16 - No badge, missing bottom rim and tension rods. Muffler is intact, appears someone crudely tried to recover part of the the drum with some faux rock print vinyl?

Snare is 14x5 - Seems to be steel or steel plated aluminum, 10 lugs? stamped ant-galvanic inside = ludalloy? missing a tension rod or too, plenty of age wear on the metal shell, blue and olive badge - 6 digit serial #.

Tom 1 - 13x9 Concert Tom - Someone put duct tape along the bottom, seems and additional more modern? tom arm mount as added.

Tom 2 - 13x9 Concert tom - No badge, almost seems a different wood grain from Tom 1.

My dating based on limited knowledge and research.

Kick is mid/late 60's? Same for LoTom?
Concert toms are 70's?
Snare is 70's

Boy do these things need a cleaning... Goo gone safe to use on the duct tape residue?

The kick and floor tom are slingerland. Someone added a dbl tom mount on the kick. Two 13" are 70's ludwig and so is the snare. They could probably be brought back to life with some money, a lot of time, and love! Good luck.

EDIT: Looks like they put the floor tom leg mounts on upside down.

Thank you, much appreciated. Yeah, was wondering if the Kick and LoTom were Slingerland based on the M stamps.

Why are there staples along the re-rings on the kick and floor tom?

Any idea on the wood types etc?

Safe for me to just to roughly clean these up and use close to as is?

Tom Two is Slingerland also... Only Ludwig shells are Tom 1 & the snare... Plus some mounts..

(note the FT leg mounts are fitted upside down, and with the 13s, Slingerland hoop is on the Ludwig & visa versa)

Cheers
John

Tackled the snare drum first. From what I can tell it is a 1969 Supraphonic 400, based on the 6 digit blue olive date code 82XXXX, though maybe later?

Took this thing completely apart and it the thing really shined up nice and looks almost like new, virtually no pitting on the shell after cleaning, a bit on the rims. Had all the parts except one tension rod was missing and had to be replaced.

Haven't made up my mind yet, been busy messing with diy electronics and other projects so not sure I have time/energy to do too much with them. Got some heads on order to see how they sound, not sure I want to invest in getting all the necessary hardware etc.. Will probably finish sanding down the kick at least and try to lacquer that.

Got motivated and finished sanding the remaining finish off the kick drum, just doing an oil rub finish as the wood is really beautiful. Pic of first coat going on:
