This is not all that I own but is a good bunch of them.
4- speed king,, I own two more Wfl's not shown. 1-Ludwig Speed master. 2- Slingerland Tempo kings. 1- DW turbo accelerator 2000 model with footboard weights this pedal configuration is no longer made it is my all time fav pedal and the only one that I use. 1-W/A with a unique footboard. 1-Leedy XL. 1-Leedy Professional. 1-Leedy Frazier. 1-Duplex/Heyn. I have owned 4 Premier 252 pedals, a couple of Sonor pedals, Also 3 Dw 5000 accelerators current models the ones now made in china what junk they are, also a DW 9000 was not impressed at all by it either. A Ludwig brand new ghost pedal hated that thing also.

I have two 60's Speed Kings in cherry-condition in case one of them breaks. My main pedal and a good spare is all I need.

Rogers Big R - why would anyone need anything else?
![]() But I also have a Ghost, vintage Camco and a late 80's Yamaha that used to be my main pedal until I snagged my sweet Big R back from my brother...

Good thread. We don't talk enough about these cool old pedals:
2 Ludwig speed kings 1 Slingerland tempo king 1 Slingerland AA 1 Tama iron cobra Speed kings top them all. But I also like my AA pedal a lot. Plays nicely and has such great looking footboard! James

Eric. ha ha thx, actually the DW 5000 pedal beater is a hard white felt beater with the extended length shaft, I do have a extended length Danmar shaft red wooden beater also. I play 26" and 28" bass drums, so that is the reason for the extended shaft beaters.

1-1965 Ludwig Speed King-I am still using it. I clean and re-grease it every year.
2-1972 Ludwig Speed Kings. In original boxes. One has been used for a couple of gigs, the other hasn't been touched, except for a cleaning and re-greasing. I've played all sorts of pedals, old, new, expensive, cheap. The Speed King is the best. AJAX? Pearl? DW? Slingerland?(trash) Camco? Rogers?(be serious). All second rate as far as I am concerned, but a lot of people like them and I am happy for them. I use hard felt, wooden, and plastic beaters for different settings. I have a 20" BD and a 26" BD. Boolah boolah! |
