That's what it looks like. The shell is cheaply made. They take a flat sheet of steel, bend the edges over flat against the shell and then roll it into a shell. Then they spot weld the seam. They are constructed much like the Slingerland aluminum shell snares and the first gen Ludwig Acrolites. They probably can sound decent but I wouldn't give a whole lot for one given its construction.

Serial 407xxx would be expected for '79.
