Hi
I recently found this snare drum while clearing out an attic and i don't really know what it is, what era its from, who it could be made by as there are no badges or markings and if its worth anything. Any ideas? Many thanks Andrew Last edited by Andypw; 03-25-2018 at 12:44 PM. |

It's a Ludwig black oyster pearl Jazz Fest just like Ringo used to play. Worth thousands.
Come on, dude. There are people here who would love to help, but without photos, or at minimum a description (dimensions, number of lugs, shell finish, general condition), how can you expect a serious answer?! Al |

The throw looks similar to a duplex. A variety of the drum makers back then all made a very similar snare to this. I have several. Any markings on the interior? That would help us to be able to answer your question

Its a pretty standard "Tango" Drum. All the drummakers used to make them. With those tension rods, its a beginner (student) drum. Looks like a nice Walnut shell. The snares would be cord.

I think it’s a pretty cool drum!
