I read the terrible news about Mike Layton being killed in a motorcycle accident last night.
https://www.drumforum.org/threads/ho...sed-on.200579/ Very sad. Never met the man but by all accounts a heck of a nice guy. |

I just read a post regarding Mike on another forum. Horrific news! Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I was fortunate enough to correspond with him numerous times through the years on this forum. He was a very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful guy who I found to be a joy to deal with. My condolences to his family and all his friends. Rest In Peace, Mike! You’re going to be deeply missed.

I heard the news last night, I feel for his family. Super nice guy, I did get to meet him this year, glad I decided to make the last minute trip to the drum show.

Very sorry to hear this. I’ve bought from Mike before but never met him. Seemed like a great guy.

Mike and I communicated several times on drum forums. We had different drum brand preferences. But we both appreciated the other guy's love of vintage American-made drums. From all accounts of people who knew Mike in person he was a hell of a good guy. I offer my condolences to his family.

I had some interaction with Mike on DFO years ago and he seemed like a good guy. This is very tragic news, for sure. My condolences to his family and friends.
I like looking at motorcycles, but I'd never get on one again. One wrong move, and it's injury or worse.
