I have been asked for quote on shipping a BD... and gush golly they want $200.00 ... crazy if you are paying only $100.00 for the shell... makes commerce on line very prohibitive.... I used to use greyhound but they no longer offer shipping.. and between FEDEX and UPS ... no much choices.
Any one have a secret shipper ??? Last edited by Webmaster; 02-06-2023 at 01:29 PM. Reason: Title fix |

It's gotten quite expensive. There are probably multiple economic impacts that are driving the high cost of shipping and, presumably, not the least of those is the cost of diesel fuel. National average is about $4.60/gal, though outfits like FedEx and UPS must be getting some margin of discount for volume purchasing.
It does seem Reverb is hooking up with the shippers to obtain discounts if you use their label. Otherwise, probably no secrets. |

If you sell through PayPal goods n services, then their Shipstation option is typically and reasonably subsidized.
Otherwise, try shipnerd, which usually saves you a few $ as well, although it's like the old old priceline.com, you don't know the shipper until you've committed to the service.

I was tipped off to using a website called Pirate Ship. It's similar to Shipstation and the bulk discounts Reverb can get but it's 100% free and super user friendly. UPS prices have gone up but in general I'm paying about $25 for a snare across the US and $15-20 in closer states.
Also had a quote for a full kit that would have been in the 100-150 range vs 250-300 on the UPS website. |
