Hey Lissy - Great job! I have to say that yours was a major inspiration for taking on this project. I have a fantasia pearl kit also, and when I saw your pics, I said; "yeah, I want that". Appreciate your chiming in. Yeah, I've done a few things, (mainly band logos) the felt marker or paint route, but I have a few kits lined up right now, and thought, why not look into getting a bunch done for easy application? Thanks.

Thank you very much, sir!

- To have more batters looking similar, I had the idea of laying them one on the other and trace the sript. This way they all will look the same, I think. This is possible since Remo uses a clear foil even for their coated batters where you can see through - I remember a time, when that foil also was white under the coating and this procedure would have been impossible.

Inspirational! I have scanned a very rare logo and printed it on to A4 clear stick on label. The result is good, but the label smudges fairly easily. I'm going to give your method a go (practice first on an old head) thanks!

Thank you also, I am happy that my work is inspiring other people to do the same!

Indeed I have been thinking about the solution you suggested, but mostly the printable stickers don´t adhere to the white coating for very long. So I decided to do it the way I described.

So I wish both of you good success with the work on your own custom batters! Hope that you will post the results, can´t wait to see them!

@ Lissy - I've not tried applying these to coated heads, only smooth plastic resos, and they've worked great. When I get a bunch printed up, I'll probably experiment with a coated head just to see how it holds up, but I know the actual Ludwig Logo resos are smooth and so I've just gone that route and they sound and look great.

Here's my next installment - had done one version of this logo, using a smaller photograph I found here on the forum, and it turned out pretty good. I'd since scored an actual logo head and scanned it. Lined it up with my original vector drawing, and it was surprisingly accurate. Did some final tweaking to get as close as I could, and here is the result, (original bass logo on top/vector drawing on bottom):

Okay, here's what I have for the Coronet logo, (thanks again Skink, for reference shot). The crown is about as accurate as I could get from reference detail...

Here's one I've wanted to do for myself. Obviously not MIJ, and it has been produced before, (or at least attempted - I have not seen finished product) but here's my interpretation of the hand lettered, Ludwig logo as it appeared on the Sullivan show Beatles logo head, on that infamous first appearance. I think I may post this also in regular vintage section...

Hey DN!

Incredible job you did on these scripts! You´re truly an artist, man! Kudos.Bowing

Maybe you also could do the logo of my band to be attached on the front batter?

Very nice work!

I really like how the Coronet shot worked out after your rendering. Cool,

and once you're ready to make them, I want some (two)!

I could really see this taking off for you. Especially if you can find a good way to hold it onto a coated head, as most vintage reso's are coated (rough).

Keep us posted

DaddyNowhere - Great job on creating those logos!

If you are looking for more logos, I have a pic of my MIJ Ralston bass drum. Would you be able to pull the logo from there?

I'm not sure if anyone else on the forum owns this brand.

Thanks Dionne, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. Trouble is, (with many of these MIJ brands in general) I'm not sure how common this brand is, in fact, yours is the first I've heard of Ralston, and it looks like you've got a nice logo head already. Obviously some are more common that others, and I'm actually hoping for some suggestions from the peanut gallery here to see if there is a preponderance of any particular brands that there could be a demand for. One I'm still hoping to get is 'Hoshino'. I know member Osakabop has posted a nice pic with a logo head, but it's on an angle, and the resolution is a bit low to get the details I require. Always appreciate the suggestions and submissions.
