Hi!
I borrowed a Ludwig Super Sensitive 14" x 6,5" from a friend. Thinking about buying it.
I noticed it doesn't have a Ludwig badge. The throw off says ludwig and everything seems original. Sounds great as well!
What´s up with this?

Sounds like someone pulled the badge off. Surely it had one originally. A lot of SS were used in school programs where badges can be the first thing to get ripped off. Post a picture and someone can probably pinpoint the era with reasonable accuracy.
You can tell the 'era' (not the year) by the Super-Sensitive mechanism itself specifically the snare guards... it's simple:
If it has an angled 'wire cage' that connects to the strainer it is from 1969/70 on...
If the strainer mechanism is protected by a wide flange that is a part of the hoop it is from 1969 or before.
First photo is 60's w/flange, second photo is 70's and later with wire housing.
Note: The 60's and earlier version of the mechanism is -smaller- than the 70's unit which is larger and bulkier.

Not all Super Sensitives had badges, or snare guards. A photo will tell the story.....
Here are some pictures.
First picture is where the badge is supposed to be.
