This is a great concept. My only reservations have to do with attaching anything to the drum sticks. Attaching any device to the sticks is going to alter balance and feel. Those are the very things drummers need to develop in order to master stick control. It just seems to me that adding anything to the sticks is going to be counterproductive to the intended goal... better control.

Even if all you're doing is measuring parameters, the drummer will have to alter his grip and balance point on the sticks in order to accommodate the diagnostic device. It kind of renders the results useless/false because the 'playing' has been altered.

Just my two cents. I wish you guys lots of good luck with your project. It's a cool concept.
