Wayne: Make sure its a KENT USA set and not one of the MIJ imports, which Kent started to do around 1968. They got sets from Japan and slapped the Kent badges on them.

Gambles: How did you fill that large hole with the Weldwood? Did you put a piece of wood
underneath it and then just fill it totally? Curious, as I have a Gretsch bass drum shell with the same...

To the OP: Why not touch up all the places where the paint is gone, and then clearcoat? its black paint, very easy to do. One afternoons work and they will look fantastic.
