Thank you O Lugs. I've opened the 16 tom up today and it really smells of paint / adhesive.

Is it possible that the granitone paint has ben freshly painted, then the badges re attached perfectly?...

Hi all thanks for the responses. If it is a refurb I'm ok with that. It seems to be done well. My concern is the bearing edges and the effect on the sound. I really want that sweet fat super classics...
