Re: Bill Ward solo cds

You can likely check it out on YouTube, or another streaming site and decide with your own ears.

Re: Terry Bozzio's Zappa equipment.

This is the drums solo from Baby Snakes. There's brief glimpses of some Rogers Big R tom mounts, but the drums look to be Gretsch possibly.

Dynasonic head suggestions

Hello VDF,

I'm going to clean up and re-head my '69 COB Rogers Dynasonic. I've always used clear snare Ambassadors on the reso and a coated Ambassador on top, but I'm looking to experiment with...

Re: Record Covers with (vintage) Drums on!

I might be remembering the story wrong, but that cover may have cost Buddy his Slingerland endorsement...definitely got him in some hot water at least!

Re: Dream Cymbals?

Excuse the puns, but they're really hit or miss, however when you do find one you like they are the best bang for your buck! I've had a few. Currently, I rotate a 22" Energy Ride in and out of my set...

Re: 13/16/20 - Am I crazy?

There's the Ludwig "Super Beat" configuration too! I'm not sure if it was an original catalog offering, or a name invented for a kit of orphan drums?

BTW, I'm currently looking for a 16" WMP...

Good Morning,
does anyone have preference of a wrap supplier for matching Rogers Blue Onyx to the original '60s color? I know the new Dynas are wrapped with Delmar product but I'm curious if there...

Re: Removing "R-360" Label

I just looked at mine. Seems as if youd have to tap out the little tacks that hold the badge in place. Mine barely protrude the inner shell, so you'd have to do this vey gently. From a distance, I...

Re: Uppercase vs. Lowecase Amir cymbals

Yeah, my high school got a 20" Edge Ride right when they came out; had to be 1995-'97. I remeber the purple ink and having a nice bell, sounding like a Ping or thinner Z series cymbal.

Re: Uppercase vs. Lowecase Amir cymbals

*I think* Zildjian caught on that the mid-level pricing cymbals were possibly going to put a dent in the upper-end lines so they changed 'em up. I, too own a pair of uppercase AMIRs!!

Re: Yamaha flying dragon pedal

I had one briefly. Really smooth pedal, but I recall it not clamping on the hoop reliably so I traded it off. I can't really pinpoint the cause of issue.

Re: Rogers R-380s my uncle used to play in the 70s

Birch shells made in Japan by Yamaha. Good sounding drums. The snare is an American made Rogers. Clean em up, look for any missing parts and enjoy! I have a R-360 thats see a good amount of use.

Re: Practice Time

Been doing a little "outside the box" kinda stuff. Learning some 3-2 African clave rhythms for drum set via Billy Martin's "Riddim." Look it up on the web as I believe there may be excerpts around....

Re: Info on Rogers Kit for Sale

Drums with those Fullerton tags should date 1969- mid 1972. Some had 5 ply, some had 3 ply maple shells. The Swivo mounting hardware in that era was changed to cast metal and prone to cracking thus...

Re: Slingerland 80N Black Sabbath Tribute Kit

If you ever saw Bill Ward's kit on the Paris 1970 show, he used a Ludwig Standard snare! Search YouTube, it's fairly common.
