Autosol Metal polish & soft cloth does a decent job on aluminium... I use it on shells, lugs & any metal fittings. I recently added a little "pizzaz" to an exposed section of a Remo BD aluminium hoop...

Mark,, sorry about that... I have some OCD too.. I have been playing around with a 70's sound king shell that I repaired dents, then sprayed the inner silver coating, put a replacement throw & butt...

Mark ..that green sparkle is a beautiful drum indeed... but to me it appears that maybe?? the badge may be centre'd but it's the lugs are not ?? I am just looking at the tension screw threading,,,...

If fitting with a grommet.. add a little more curvature than is required to shape... The grommet fitting will then pull it in for tighter fit..

Yes it's an incomplete butt plate.... The kit is a "Super Rock" kit, Model 51N, & mid 70's is correct. Probably will need to spend around at least 250.00 for the missing parts .. they each will show...
