Re: Mic set up for singing?

For me, not using the gooseneck falls into my rules for taking stuff: "One less piece. One less pound."

Re: Mic set up for singing?

I have a drummer friend that has tried to play and sing to no avail. For him, it is because he counts (in his head) when he plays.
When I play and sing, I am "listening" to an audio of the song in...

Re: Mic set up for singing?

Singing drummer here. I use a standard boom mic on my right side coming in at mouth height. No gooseneck. Inexpensive and works good for me.

Need part of a cymbal stand, please.

Looking to buy, beg,or steal a center section form a Ludwig 1400 series cymbal stand, or something similar that will accept the top section of a 1400 stand. Thank you.

Re: Vistalite bass drum seam question

I can say that my '73 Vistas came with a hex head bolt to tighten onto the tom holder post. It used the same t-wrench as the nuts on the tom brackets.

Re: Need info on these Zildjians, please.

Thanks, Mike. I have gigged with them off and on for over 40 years. I clean them regularly (gasp!) and store them in terry cloth bags when not set up to play.

Need info on these Zildjians, please.

I have a couple of cymbals I have had since the late '60s. Just wondering if there are particular names or model designations for them

There is an 18" crash and a 20" ride.

And any estimate on...

Re: Replacing old straps on vintage fiber cases

Craft stores sell two part rivets that come with a setting tool. The post comes up from the bottom and the cap is pressed on with pressure. They come in different diameters and lengths.

Re: Ludwig Flat Base Stand Part, Part Two

I cannot say for sure, but I would bet that you need a roll pin. They are used in many types of drum assemblies. The pin is slightly larger than the hole, and the sides are compressed as it is...

Re: Ludwig Flat Base Stand Part, Part Two

I own a couple of 1400 cymbal stands, and I'd like to help you if I can, but I can't picture what you are describing.

Does yours look like this? If so, the tilter doesn't have any pins that I can...

Re: Vistalite-original or RCI route

Very much a matter of personal taste. I prefer the original Vistalites ('70s vintage) and have never had a cracking issue. I always felt that RCI was infringing on the Ludwig stuff - especially...

Re: Cleaning Cymbals?

I use AMWAY metal cleaner. I rub it into the grooves with a rag, then rinse with tap water and dry. They look like new and sound beautiful!

Re: Ludwig 1123-1 hi-hat stand sluggish

Here is a diagram that may help. I have seen some threads either here or at DFO that completely describe maintenance of these hi-hats.

Re: Ludwig Cymbal Stand and Tilter Questions

I am thinking about getting the whole assembly, but trying to figure out what the smallest height would be for the cymbal. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Vintage Hi-Hat Stands: Gretsch vs Slingerland vs Ludwig

I bought a Ludwig 1124 stand in the late '60s and still use it full-time today. I haven't played non-stop all those years, but it has had some heavy usage and is still smooth and trouble free. If...

Re: Paiste 200 Hi-Hats

I have a set of the Ludwig Standard Paiste 14” Hi-hats I have had since the mid 1960s. They are the only hats I have ever owned and played, and I still gig with them several times a month.

Re: 1977 Vistalite set question(s)

Obviously can't see everything in the pictures, but from what I can see, that set is worth more than $1000 easily. Very nice!

As far as working for you, only you can determine that, but I see no...
