UFIP ictus 75 TAMPANG gong/cymbal

I bought my very first gong. I found a cool ~24" UFIP gong for sale and brought it home. It's a 4689g heavy beast! According to my research, the holes are factory made. It can be used as a cymbal or...

Re: 24" Premier Bass Drum restoration

I decided to restore and refinish the bass drum hoops. I was sanding one hoop while the other was clamped for sitting the glue.
For my surprise, I noticed a weak small spot in the wrap strip. I...

I filled the gap yesterday. I did a test with water based white glue and wood dust but it didn't turn out good.
I bought a beech wood stick and sanded it out to get some dust with similar color. I...

Re: 24" Premier Bass Drum restoration

I removed the clamps. I think it is nicely glued. The gap still has room to finish with wood dust and wood glue mix. I will use sandpaper to remove the excess and get a clean bearing edge and a good...

Re: 24" Premier Bass Drum restoration

I read this too late. The glue transparency is noticeable after clamping the shell. I thought immediately I should have use wood dust to give it some color. Is that your idea? What's the purpose of...
