Re: Digital drum wrap

Thanks everyone for the tips and input. I think that is the problem. The technology may not be quite there yet.

Re: Digital drum wrap

After talking with a few different people who do this type of thing, it seems that reproducing a wrap from a photo of vintage pearl is probably not going to produce very good results.

Thanks for...

Re: Digital drum wrap

I dont have a clue. The original was high resolution, so I doubt that was the problem. I certainly could have provided possibly better photos but I guess it doesnt matter. I asked why they couldnt do...

Re: Digital drum wrap

I should have mentioned that I contacted them but they just said "no". No idea why but I guess I need a different source. Nothing complicated- just a photo of a pearl finish that I need applied to a...

Digital drum wrap

Hi, Folks

Does anyone know of any company that can digitally print designs on drum wrap? I'm attempting to have a photo of some vintage pearl transformed into drum covering material for a project...

Re: Leedy question?

Yes, both claw and T rod are Slingerland. Leedy did use them but not until after 1955.

Re: Radio King - Chicago Badge

Way too thin. Incorrect pearl pattern. Odd looking snare bed. Edges have been altered drastically. Good "player" maybe or parts "donor". The parts are worth more than the drum itself. Those #967...

Re: RK snare date please?

Based on the screwed on wider "gates" on the bottom hoop, the drum is pre-war or made just after WWII started. 1940-42 or so. A bit unusual to see one with no extension brackets but that could be...

Re: Slingerland Radio King value

You still have to pay taxes on drum sales, regardless of the amount. PayPal or no PayPal. Money is money. If a profit is made, taxes must be paid- or at least filed. Even if no profit was made, you'd...

Re: radio king snare in natural finish?

I'll bet $499 that the original duco finish was removed. They didnt make natural finishes when that drum was made (1944-47).

Re: Radio King Brother and Sister

Those are great looking drums! You dont see that many Krupa models with the large oval badge. Very nice!

Re: Fds?

I have one of those WAMCO FDS high hat stands, as well. Thanks for identifying the "FDS"! Never occurred to me.

Yeah, it looked a bit dark for original Sparkling Green.

Re: Slingerland

Is that finish original? Perhaps it's just the photos but it looks like modern glass glitter.

Re: 1938-40 SLINGERLAND 5 x 14 NOB ARTIST MODEL RADIO KING

Not entirely true. There were many Radio Kings with no extended snares. They are considered true Radio Kings. The Buddy Rick RK model comes to mind.

That giant reinforcing ring should tell you that.

Re: Radio King snare puzzle

The throw-off is either a 60's version or a Japanese knock-off.

Re: Radio King snare puzzle

I think that is either a 9x13 or a 12x14 converted to a snare drum. Doubtful that it is original.

Re: Very Old Vintage Tom drum, Who made it..?

Can you post better photos of the lugs? I dont think they are Ludwig. Just hard to tell from the pics.

Re: Name that strainer

Looks like they had more than one version. The one in the photo with the "beaver tail" lugs would most likely be the earlier version. Note the very "Kent-like" handle. Same as the ones used on the...
