Re: Circa 1969 Dixie "Rock" 3 piece.

teverson!

I would certainly say that your MIJ find is somewhat rare! Like you mentioned, I've also never seen anything but 20" and 22" bass drums during the 60's and mid-70's. The "Rock"...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, it sounded great! Hard to believe it's been almost 18 years since I sold it...long before I had any idea of what I had!

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Tommyp! Great information as always! So, it was the Corder SFT throw and butt? Good to know! Here are pictures of the completed Cannon/Corder/Keller SFT snare drum! I wrapped it in Black Glass...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Just resized these pictures! Here's the "new" drum, a 10-ply Keller shell, with all the hardware transferred from the Cannon COW shell. Based on these pictures, the shell appears to be a 5.5" depth....

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

I tracked down the original SMALL eBay pictures! I purchased this drum back in 2004, based only on these pictures! I didn't even copy the auction post or how much I paid! But, I believe I got it for...

Re: MIJ Blue Sparkle: Just Scored These

Made by Pearl! The Swivo-style tom arms were great! FWIW, the tom arms are in backwards! The key-operated screw faces up!

DFD (Drum Factory Direct) has them... https://www.drumfactorydirect.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_59&products_id=16659

As O-Lugs stated, "You will probably have to bite the bullet...

Re: Slingerland 16x16 Pink sparkle floor tom

I also noted the 18% buyer's premium. What does that mean? As to the date of the drum, I concur. Sparkling Pink Pearl was long gone by then, making this floor tom even more desirable and possibly...

Re: Shipping box recommendations for snare drums

The double-wall boxes will certainly work, but use the 16x16x6 or 16x16x8 as the minimum size for protection. The majority of 14" diameter drums MIGHT fit into a 15" square box, but can be a tight...

Re: Shipping box recommendations for snare drums

I'm in southern California and get my boxes from Box City in Pasadena. For just storing my 5x14 and 5.5x14 snare drums, I use 16x16x6. When shipping, I'll use 18x18x8, which allows for more packing...

Re: Slingerland buffs - Fresno, CA craigslist

I'm going to nitpick here! The floor tom legs appear to be Ludwig! I can tell the difference between Slingerland and Ludwig legs! Deduct $25!!! LoLoLoLo

Re: Slingerland buffs - Fresno, CA craigslist

The Black Chrome, Copper and Chrome wraps don't add much to the weight of each drum. I can't imagine a 14x22 bass drum, wrapped in Black Chrome, would weigh significantly more than if it was wrapped...

Re: Slingerland buffs - Fresno, CA craigslist

Hi Marty!

This set appears to be in really wonderful condition! Black Chrome was a popular finish and would look good today. The shells are 3-ply with solid maple re-rings, which Slingerland was...

Re: Info on this Pearl kit?

I would definitely agree with mgtcnut on passing on this for $275. Personally, I MIGHT go as high as $125, as I do see some potential here. Still, as suggested, around $75 is a good offer considering...
