Re: My Newest Slingerland Acquisition!

That's sweet. Wrap looks really close to my Ludwig Club Dates of the same era. Wonder if the same company made the wrap??

Re: Time For Some Fun

I'll go with Ed Shaughnessey (spelling?) .... and his white Ludwig kit. Just loved that Johnny Carson era and I think he held his own with the head to heads he'd do with Buddy Rich. Has anyone ever...

Re: The 14x14 Remains Highly Sought

My 14" 1963 Ludwig Club Date floor tom is worth more than the rest of the set. Odd thing is I found a 16" floor tom in the supposed same wrap (sky blue pearl) but when I got it it didn't match up...

Re: New slingerland??

I forget, someone/company bought the Slingerland machines, drawings, and was putting out new Slingerlands under a different name. It's been a few years. Anyone recall the new name?

Re: BS&T, Colomby and Rogers

That was phenomenal! Thank you. Never have seen this before. And man, wasn't Clayton-Thomas the best singer? I have always loved his voice. Very expressive with lots of colors and emotion. Just...

Re: Early 60's Club Date

Hm, is the current blue sparkle wrap the original wrap? I don't like messing with history :)

Re: This is the Display Your Camco Drums Thread

Those are stunning. I did find an older pic of my Camco snare. Some guy did a musical in California about Dennis Wilson and wanted my Camcos. I wish he would have brought the musical to Eastern USA.

Re: 1964 Ludwig BOP update....

I would have given the seller $300 or so even though the asking price was $60. Unwritten code of vintage drum buying (?) ... :)

Re: Request info on White Marine Pearl yellowing

Also, is it not true that gigging in tobacco smoke filled rooms can cause yellowing?

Re: Slingerland denim question

I recall a denim kit on ebay hmm around 2012-2013. Asking price wasn't outrageous as I recall. Under $1,000 for certain. This wrap has always fascinated me. As well as the story behind it. Man, blue...

Re: This is the Display Your Camco Drums Thread

Excuse me for asking, but was this The Critters "Mr. Dieingly Sad" band? I love that song and still hear it on various online stations. The Animals, Turtles and Association were hugely successful....

Re: This is the Display Your Camco Drums Thread

OK now I'm missing my Camcos. Sold about 5 years ago to a guy in CA. Then again, I wasn't hugely impressed by the sound...or the wrap for that matter.

Re: Wake up California - Rogers

Doesn't that wrap have cracking issues in general? I saw identical wrap once for sale and it was a mess..

Re: Rogers Holiday Kit

That was my thought. Anyone paying that price wants unmodified drums. It may be worth $3k plus to the owner but it will be difficult to get that.

Rogers Holiday Kit

This is not mine and I have no affiliation to the seller. Just putting this out there as an FYI and to elicit comments as to originality, etc. Thank you.

Really nice, both kits. Where would these have been sold back in the day? Places like Sears, JC Penney?

Re: Pearl fiberglass kit

Please let us know how it sounds. There's a similar kit for sale by me. I think BillnVic here had one for sale years ago. How's he been?
