Re: WTB: 12 x Bass drum lugs, T-Rods & claws for project

Yes. You're right, but I have very typical wood hoops and an undrilled shell. I'm sure any lugs, tees and claws will do the job.

Re: When did Zildjian use this ink stamp?

Yes, you're right. It says 61cm, which is 24 inches in old money.
It is definitely a Zildjian. I have seen this stamp before. I'm just curious as to know when Zildjian were doing this. And where...

WTB: 12 x Bass drum lugs, T-Rods & claws for project

I'd be a buyer, if anyone's selling. I'm just looking to convert a single tension 18 x 12 mahogany tenor drum into a separate tension bass drum. I just need the lugs, but not just any ol lugs. I'd be...

When did Zildjian use this ink stamp?

Hi, does anyone know when Zildjian used this ink stamp on their cymbals? I have this cymbal ordered, there was no photo of the stamp itself. It's a 24". I've had a 20" in the past with this ink stamp...

Re: Rare MIJ Finish

Thanks for the info. it's good to know. Here's some photos I took outdoors. It sure is a cool looking wrap, but the kit has since sold.

Re: Out of round metal shell

Yeah. Cool looking set. I sold it a couple of weeks back. Only after I sold it I found a floor tom for sale. It wasn't an exact match, but close enough. Doh! Oh well, easy come, easy go.
Here's...

Re: Out of round metal shell

I like the idea. It makes sense. I'm a little hesitant to do anything with it. I was once able to get an egg shaped aluminum shell back in round, but it wasn't a beaded shell and it came at a cost....

Re: Ludwig Snare Cord Replica

I heard other reports that Ludwig used 1.8 mm cord. I don't think it matters, but that's just me.

Ludwig Snare Cord Replica

Hey there. I just picked up a spool of this braided nylon cord which appears to be the exact same type Ludwig used for their snare cord back in the day. I can't see any difference. For those...

Re: Muffler felt. Can you wash it? :)

It never even occurred to me to take a before and after pic. I'm happy enough with how it turned out. It seemed like maybe the muffler might have gotten dunked in a puddle of DW40 or something. It...

Re: Out of round metal shell

Thanks for the reply, kdg. I had thought of this too, but I'll probably just jam the reso head back on and pretend it's OK. I took the whole drum apart. Here's the shell. Chrome looks good. It should...

Re: Muffler felt. Can you wash it? :)

That's for all the replies, fellas. I soaked the muffler in hot water and some dish soap. I kind of just rubbed the soap into the felt / wool. It's certainly a lot better now. Not perfect, but good...

Re: A bent p83 strainer lever

Good advice. I removed the strainer. I'm just afraid to remove the E clips. I might be able to get away with it without removing the clips.
Here's what I'm dealing with.

Re: A bent p83 strainer lever

Thanks so much for the tips. I've never actually removed those 'E' clips before. How would one go about doing that? A vice grips would be handy. I don't actually have one myself. Hammer it is. It's...

Muffler felt. Can you wash it? :)

Hello all, has anyone out there ever washed a muffler? I'm talking about the felt itself. In this case it's a Ludwig baseball bat with white felt. The trouble is, the white felt looks as if if has...

Out of round metal shell

Hello, I have a 60s keystone badge Supraphonic with a slightly out of round shell and I'm wondering if anyone out there has had any success in getting a Supra, or any other type of metal shell snare...

Re: Mounting two racks toms with virgin bass drum?

Thanks, O-Lugs! The toms are Rogers Holiday, but I don't have the mounts, so I've been just using one on a snare stand. I'm not a fan of having the two toms off to the left on a single stand. I'd...

Mounting two racks toms with virgin bass drum?

Quick question on tom mounting options using a virgin bass drum. So, I usually use just two toms - one up and one down, which is of course the correct number of toms, but I'm entertaining the idea of...

Re: Rare MIJ Finish

Cheers, Kenwood. I'd certainly be interested in seeing that. If you have a pic, that is. I've only even seen one other drum which was a very close match and that was a Rogers R-380 16X16 Floor Tom....

Wow! Incredible display, Kenwood. You got some really nice ones there. Thanks so much for the information. The 14X14 floor toms are hard to come by in any wrap. I used the bass drum on a recording...

Rare MIJ Finish

Sweet looking kit if you ask me. Nice, green ripple finish. 14X20, 8X12, 5X14
I'm looking for a 14X14 floor tom in the same finish, but I don't think I will ever find one tbh. It seems like quite a...

Re: Ringo's Hi Hat Tambourine in Get Back

But the Ching Rings are like a dime a dozen. They're out there. This one Ringo used is as rare as can be.

Re: Ringo's Hi Hat Tambourine in Get Back

It's aluminium with some kind of silver paint job.I think, but not certain. I'd have to test with a magnet.
