Re: Gorgeous Kent drum kit (shell pack) on ebay

They are overpriced, and unless the seller is willing to seriously haggle, I'd walk away.

I just bought a great old set of BDP Ludwigs for $600 in primo shape.

Re: If You could Have Only One Drum Set

I'd keep my DW set above all others, but this is really a moot question, as I don't have to sell any of them.

Re: Help to id an old cymbal

I believe Ajaha was distributed by Gretsch and made in Italy by UFIP. All the drum companies distributed Zildjian, and all of them had a second line of mostly Italian cymbals. Another name was...

Re: Where is everyone?

I came back here after a long layoff, which was primarily because there was so very little happening here on a daily basis, which is not unusual, as many forums seem to have lost popularity over the...

Re: DW Slingerland

I would have agreed with you years ago when we were both "over there," but truth is, I have two spectacular Ludwig sets that sound great and look incredible. The Burgundy Sparkle set was procured...

Re: I'll break the ice: Rob Cook's Rogers book

The Rogers book is good, but Rob's early pressings of the Slingerland book were a right mess. The production problems stemmed from Rob allowing one of his friends to print it who did a crappy job. He...

Re: DW Slingerland

Hey Howie, how's tricks? I needed a break from this forum for a while. Yes, no desire to go back to "that place." They'd get a kick out of the fact that I now own two vintage Ludwig sets. I'd never...

Re: DW Slingerland

DW is waiting for things to return to some sense of normalcy before reintroducing Slingerland drums. They will start with Radio King snares, as might be expected. Be patient. They're coming.

Re: Hello......Is This Thing Working?

Take a hike, pal. I've offered and given my years of knowledge freely here for as long as I've been a member. What have you done?

Re: Hello......Is This Thing Working?

That's why I come here about once a month, Howie. This forum is nearly dead and the guy who owns it doesn't care anymore. Sorry to be a downer, but it's pretty obvious.

Re: Is Anyone Still Using This Forum?

Re: Rogers Silver Sparkle

It is an Asian knockoff. Look closely. You see these tom holders on 70's Tempro drums and other MIJ brands. That alone is a bargaining chip.

Re: Rogers Silver Sparkle

I think that's a later tom arm and probably Asian. I'd say offer $700.
