Re: Strange Hole in Pearl Made MIJ

Maybe someone mounted lights inside them and the holes are pass-throughs for wiring. (But why not just use the vents?)

I definitely have the tension rods you need and probably the 13" hoop too. I'll check tonight and PM you. I have some other Star stuff too if you want me to see what else is here.

FOUND Star BD lugs, (sonor teardrop copy)

I'm looking for about 16 of the BD-sized lugs that Star made in the late 60s/early 70s in the style of Sonor's teardrop lugs of the same era. I have plenty of the tom-sized ones, I need the larger...

Re: WTB: Sonor Teardrop 6ply 20 16 13

I have a turquoise satin flame set from about '67, just 20/13/16, no snare. The wrap is in great shape, for a satin flame, but there are some dings and scratches. One of the floor tom leg receivers...

Re: Another Mystery Drum -

Wow, the info gurus at Pearl have missed again...

That is the current w/fg model. There was also a late version in the early 80s that had maple shells and tidy looking fg like this.

However,...

Re: Premier Resonator BopKit, what's it worth?

It appears to be a Resonator set with the liners removed. This is common because once assembled, there is no way to tighten the fitting on a Resonator. When they inevitably worked loose, the liners...

Re: Another Mystery Drum -

I wonder if you may be thinking of the solid fiber glass shells Pearl also built in that era. They had a smooth interior and translucent yellow/tan color. Or maybe you are comparing this shell to...

Re: Late 70s Pearl F-418 "Art Blakey" outfit in Silver Satin

I am going for a traditional setup with it - no riser, ambassadors and felt strips. As such, I'm a little out of my element. My previous experiences with 18" BDs were more about making them sound...

Ok, got the parts it needed save for one BD hoop inlay 1" wide, silver satin (or metallic white).

Got proper coated Ambassadors and felt strips, almost bone stock now. Tuning them high for bop -...

Late 70s Pearl F-418 "Art Blakey" outfit in Silver Satin

Ka-powey. Catalogue shot is from 1977 or so (incorrectly dated 1974-ish on VDG)

This bad guy came from Sweden via ebay. Still looking for a period correct Vari-Set cymbal boom arm. Also...

Re: Pearl wood fiberglass snare

70s W/FG sets came with COB snares. The last version of W/FG in the early 80s had all maple shells with a liner and a snare was offered.

Re: how much for this pearl kit?

Thse tom and bass lugs look like modern Pearl to me, like the Rhythm Traveler lug, but the mounting screws are period so I guess they are just a new sighting to me.

My set actually has different...
