Re: Citrus Mod: now you see it, now you don't

Don't you still have one Bun E? I would like to clone one to go with my original 1971 set. It would be fun to have one and I certainly won't be able to drop two grand on one. Not that I would ever...

Re: Vintage Rogers Snare Drum

I know someone that recently picked a 1962 era Rogers 20,12,14. My friend would need to put a lot of work into his set but this snare would probably match pretty well.

Re: Vistalite Marcher

There was a family owned music store that used to be not far from me years ago. They had all kinds of hidden treasures in there and typically most of it was not for sale. They had THREE amber...

Re: Oyster Blue

Sometimes you really have no option. I used bumwrap citrus mod to hoops for my original 1971 citrus mod set. The set was found with incorrect maple hoops and I wanted a factory original restore....

Re: Slingerland denim question

I have a friend that has a 22,12,13,16 and he has had it for sale for a long time. He may have sold them at this point but I think it took forever. They are interesting for sure.

Re: Early 60's Club Date

I agree with this especially if the wrap still looks good (or will after a nice cleaning). It also may be tough to get that original wrap off as they put that stuff on pretty good back in the 60's....

Re: Where have all the Leedys Gone

In all my years of hunting drums around my area (New Hampshire), I have never come across a Slinger-Leedy set. I saw a beautiful 4x14 green sparkle Ludwig and Leedy snare once in a music store that...

Re: Cocktail Drum Outfits

I have a Ludwig 1968 Miami Beach and I use a 1959 trans badge Ludwig piccolo with it. I did an article for NSMD on my set.

Re: Check this out WFL set on....

Looks like someone repainted these some time ago. They did kind of a sloppy job too as there is paint all over the snare drum badge. The paint job should look like my snare in the upper left corner...

Re: BOP Ludwig Jazz Fest serial number

is this real? can we see a picture of the drum? You may have won the lottery on this if it's real.

Re: Ludwig Question What To Do?

For future reference regarding citrus mod drums. The color was introduced in mid to late 1968 and ran up until about 1972-73. back in those days there of course was no internet or anything like that...

Re: What Color is my snare?

I would remove a lug. The original color should be visable under there. Cool looking drum!

Re: Why do I trust Ebay sellers?

I have never sold on eBay but have sold many things on either Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. I don't care if it's a drum set or a set of roller skates. I only put in any picture what is being...

Re: Two Tone Gretsch

I would be almost positive that this drum has silver satin flame on the bottom that turned that color. I highly doubt a bass drum with mis-matched wrap would leave the factory that way. I think what...

Re: Identification: Ludwig snare Monroe

Classic maple first appeared around 1997 so this drums is probably a classic snare. It should have six plies. They also made a super classic with 4 plys that was discontinued in the early 90's...

Re: Bop/Jazz Kits

I'm starting to take my vintage sets out more now. I would have always done so but it was just easy to use my classic maple set as it looks and sounds great. Obviously the occasion has to warrant it...

Re: Bop/Jazz Kits

I wish the Gretsch Catalina sets were around when I was in high school (graduated in 1990). My school had a late 50's Slingerland bass and tom that looked like swiss cheese. It was missing the front...

Re: Rarest of the pearls

This is a newer classic maple set. The wrap was made for the 100th anniversary POP snares that guitar center sold and enough wrap was around to do several sets. Bun E has a beautiful set and I have...

Re: Ludwig set with mixed shells

I actually know someone with a mixed ply set. It's a 20,12,13,14 in bowling ball oyster blue. The badges all have close serial numbers, the wrap is a perfect match on all three drums and two of the...
