Re: Collar tension screws odd MIJ hex heads-got any?

By the way, I suspect that the rods in OP's photos are 6mm and could be easily obtained online or from Home Depot. 12-24 is very specific to the drum world, but 6mm is absolutely everywhere.

If...

Re: Collar tension screws odd MIJ hex heads-got any?

Star used 5mm rods on snares and toms, and 6mm rods on bass drums. But various MIJ companies used both imperial and metric tension rod threads. I've seen 5mm, 6mm, 12-24 and 1/4-20, all on toms,...

Re: WTB: Vintage Premier wing nut for cymbal mount.

I think I have one, it's a weird bolt with threads only at the end. Do you know the thread pitch?

Re: Gretsch tension rods=Camcos??

50s Kent rods and late 50s-60s Slingerland rods are also nearly identical to those. I have noticed differences in plating quality, but otherwise they're all pretty indistinguishable across four US...

Engraved Nickel Radio King Snare Rims for 16" FT Rims

I have a decent pair of 14" Radio King nickel snare rims, looking to trade for a pair of 16" RK rims. Nickel only, either single or double flange style is fine. Need not be collector grade.

These...

16" Radio King Rims - Nickel, either style

Looking for any and all nickel 16-inch Radio King rims. Will take single flanged or double flanged.

I'd also be interested in non-engraved single flange rims that are the same shape/style as the...

Re: Going Out Of Business Sale!!!

John, sorry to hear about these troubles, that's a raw deal. Your prices for these drums are more than fair, and I'm super relieved to see that the Big Blue kit didn't actually sell for $2k on eBay!...

Gretsch Round Badge 14x20 Shell Red Sparkle

Looking to complete a Progressive Jazz kit. I have a shell with all the hardware on it but it's full of extra holes on top.

So I'm looking to buy a 6-ply red sparkle 14x20 shell with no extra...

Re: Camco Oaklawn Badges

I have a very good reproduction, photo attached. A guy in the UK made it apparently, though I'm not sure he's still at it.

Re: Ludwig cymbal arm in nickel, early-mid '60's

The arm should be the same whether shell or hoop mounted, yes? Only the bracket would differ.

Do you have a photo of what you need? I have some nickel arms, one might be correct.

Re: Another Zickos Supersonic has Surfaced. Some questions now...

For sure, the tension rods are a monster thread and diameter. Somehow despite all the weird mods on my kit, every single part was there and correct, except for the tom arms.

Re: How rare is this bird?

Wow, what a shame about that missing chunk of wrap. No chance you'll ever find a spare piece of that stuff. Gorgeous drums though, I'll be watching this one.

Re: Another Zickos Supersonic has Surfaced. Some questions now...

Thanks! I play drums in a forró band. Forró is a type of northern Brazilian party and dancing music, normally played on a triangle and zabumba drum (think marching surdo) by separate percussionists....

Yes it did get finished! Strange that I happened to take a look at the forum the day after you guys posted again in this thread, I'm rarely here anymore. Here are some photos of what it turned out...

Re: RB 3-Ply 18" BD

I just met a fellow with a similar bop kit, though it was rewrapped and had some holes plugged badly. I had never seen a Round Badge 14x18 with rerings, that threw me and I assumed it was a special...

Re: Mystery Turkish(?) Arabic Stamp - Not an Old K Con

I love this stuff. I find myself wondering whose job it was in Italy to come up with shapes that looked like Arabic lettering.

What if it was someone's job in a non-Roman-alphabet-using state to...

Re: Is this a gretsch snare ?

Star-Hoshino. Probably a 12 or 13 rack tom. Nothing Gretsch or snare-like about it.

Re: Mystery Turkish(?) Arabic Stamp - Not an Old K Con

Hmm, I don't see that comparison no matter how I orient my photo. Maybe it's a different knockoff. I really don't think it could be a real K Con.

Mystery Turkish(?) Arabic Stamp - Not an Old K Con

eBay seller says this is a K Constantinople but I'm not so sure. Has anyone here ever seen this stamp before? It does not match even the very old early 1900's or prior K Con stamps that I've seen...
