It seems that we have a similar snare drum. The color and the pitting looks the same.

Thank you all for the information. Maybe it is brass after all.
I scraped one of the extra holes, and the metal is very shiny.

That was quick!

The serial number is 3229699. I also forgot to say that a magnet does not
stick to the shell.

I didn't notice any marks inside the shell
