Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

This is an incredibly cool looking kit! Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but did you reverse the tom mount, or is that how it was designed for this configuration? I've never seen that before.

Re: OBP Downbeat on eBay

I'd definitely buy this one from the same seller ($10,000 more for an extra floor tom is a steal, right?), but that $300 shipping is a deal breaker for me...

Re: Rogers Collett Mounts

I can't claim to have anywhere near the Rogers knowledge many on here have, and this is might be more of a workaround than a solution to your problem, but I've often used these...

Re: This is the Post a Picture of Your Drum Instructor Thread

I'm late to this, but what a great idea for a thread. (And Mark, that's wild that Roy Burns was your teacher!)
My teacher was Eddie Locke, a fantastic drummer and person who played with a ton of...

Re: Blast From The Past: Contemporary Drummer 4-1-1981

Hahaha, I totally fell for it!

But it does seem like there was a time when a lot of that was conventional wisdom.

Re: Wake up California - Rogers

It is a wood dyna, but I called this guy a month or two ago. Despite, these pictures still being up, he made it clear that it was an "accident" and that wood dyna (which he claimed belonged to Ginger...

Re: 1959 Gretsch Gold Sparkle

O-Lugs and Leedybdp, for whatever it's worth, I've totally enjoyed following this debate between you two as it travels over various threads. It's entertaining, well-reasoned from both sides, and I...

Re: Rogers swivo mounts: How much is too much?

This is all very informative, thanks! It definitely seems like, due to such great siwvo hardware design, snares, toms, cymbals, etc, mounted on the bass drum wouldn't suffer much more placement...

Rogers swivo mounts: How much is too much?

I've seen (but never heard) Rogers swivo-era kits with a snare, tom and ride cymbal all mounted on the bass drum. I've also seen Rogers bass drums with a tom (or two), a ride and a full size crash...

Re: Rogers Set in Manalapan NJ

For sure. I wouldn't be surprised if someone on this forum got them, seeing as they were listed for a month, and then sold a couple of days after you posted them here. If so, I hope we get to see...

Re: Rogers Set in Manalapan NJ

I had just finished convincing some friends in NYC to go and grab this for me (amazingly, they weren't especially excited about it), but apparently they were just sold. Bummer. Surprising that it...

Re: 60's Rogers Floor Tom s/n label - markings?

These are fantastic! It's so cool to see where it all started! I love to picture my drums being made there so many years ago. And to reiterate what many have already said, just incredible to think of...

Re: Ludwig Rocker

Great pic. And my guess is that before long your biggest problem is going to be keeping him away from them!

Re: "English Rogers" website - very interesting!

I've been going through this site more tonight. So much great stuff, especially for someone like me who knows very little about English Rogers. And the DC5 section is fantastic; love seeing all his...

Re: Cleveland Powertone COB date?

Such a cool kit. Typically I prefer smaller ones as well, but in this case I wouldn't change a thing. I love when floor toms have those extra knobby mounts for cymbals or whatever. I wish mine had...

Re: Cleveland Powertone COB date?

Thank you. I love stuff like this, the attention to detail they had when making these drums! Looking at it now, I believe both top and bottom hoops are not correct, so I guess I'll go on the hunt. I...

Re: Cleveland Powertone COB date?

Yeah, I can see the difference, thanks. That's a beautiful drum you've got there. And I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks.
