I need to see the badge. The height of the drum and the badge are the best way to ID it.

Off the head, looks like a late 60's 426 or 425 with a early 70's throw from the budget models. Keep in mind you could order what you wanted in the 70's.

I can't really tell, but it looks like the logo on your badges goes all the way to the edge of the badge. Are they ? If they are, there are not very many SONOR drums with that badge. I have...

Also note the size and gauge of the throw compared to Ludwig Supra. Similar looking only, Not even in the same league.

There's nothing like Phonics. That 506 will hold it's ground with anything. When you get it fine tuned (heads, tension) you'll love it.

Early 71 SONOR had budget lines, that teardrop D-421 snare shell and lugs were plenty available to add to the budget orders. When that 421 grew up, in became the 454 Champions and Phonic snares.

SONOR stopped using the two hole hoop before they made that throw. It was on the budget 70`s line.

Before the seamless Champion and Phonics, that was a D421. SONOR didn`t make any student drums without a bead in the teardrop era.

Welcome to the hunt.

I can see the strainer, the front of yours should be plastic. the chrome ones were on all chrome strainers and fit.

Oh my god, just noticed, you are one of the very very dying to find one ever few,....that has a complete strainer with plastic cap. That it`self is worth a fortune to some.

There is a thread on this site where a BD with the same damage but further along was done step by step and it turned out very nice. I`ll see if I can find it....
