Zoom Q2n

Loading...

I just bought this Zoom q2n video camera. The sound quality is superb. The only real downside is the battery life, I'm only able to get just over an hour of video with a fresh set of batteries. I was told you can run it off a power bank or a wall outlet. I have usb cords that will fit in the usb port on the camera, but it's not getting power from the power bank I bought.

Does anyone have one? Do I need a special usb cord? Thanks.

I bought the AC power adapter and it works well- also the Duracell Quantum seem to last a while for me.... make sure your settings are correct for battery type- (settings screen)- I've used my 'power bank'- (cheap from WalMart- ONN brand?....) and it works fine also with a short USB cord....good luck- I love mine for quality but boy does it take a ton of memory for each video....

Do you have to buy the AC power adapter made by Zoom? What setting do you put it on to use a power bank?

I bought the one by zoom AD-17A/D (from Sweetwater- I think?) -output 5V and the 'bank' was rated 5V 3350mAh I am by no means an electrical expert but the salesman told me to keep within these specifications... hope that helps- I am 'assuming' any 5V output should work? - just know mine does with these parts! /(when I used the power bank I took batteries out- dunno if that made a difference?) Battery type is set to Alkaline... again- no expert just stating what is working!

Mine says 5V-1000mA capacity 2200 mAh.

I guess I need to find one like yours.

Maybe some electrical 'geniuses' can log in- but I 'think' the mAh thing is 'how long' it lasts... so if yours is 5V and won't even work it makes me wonder....it should work but for less time.... like I said I got my 'bank' at WalMart for a few bucks- it charges with it's own cord thru my laptop USB port, turn the cord around and in the other port on the bank- to camera and it works fine... good luck and hope you get it figured out!

When you plug in the power bank, does the battery indicator light on camera go off? Mine stays on.

Aha....! Just checked and my battery indicator goes OFF... I also tried it with batteries IN ... it works and , Yes, the indicator light goes off either way.... wonder if it is not 'sensing' your bank? Have you tried it with another device? Seems as if the bank is to blame...

-huh/??? That IS weird- I know you probably charged the bank completely- till all the lights were on- right? If so and it still doesn't work- I'd ask for a replacement camera- something IS wrong- good luck- sorry!
