Zildjian Stamp Help

Loading...

Can anyone tell me about this Zildjian stamp?

Picked it up in a grab box at a used music equipment store.

2313 grams. 18". Ride or a crash? Heavy bugger.

It has a grommet in the mounting hole. Wondering if it was a marching band cymbal at one time.

No cracks, dings or key holing. Actually looks pretty nice.

I've see old one's made in Turkey. But not one's made in the USA.

It's a made in USA - A. Constantinople from late 60's-early 70's....usually heavy, pingy rock cymbals. They were only around like 5 years or so...The grommet is an oddity....

Thank You Jaye.

I wonder if the grommet was added to prevent key holing? I don't think the plastic cymbal savers were around back than.

Follow up on the grommet.

I emailed Zildjian and got a nice responce from them.

They did not add grommets automatically to Constantinople cymbals.

But they did add them per request. Custom order.
