Loading...

Hi,

i found that old 'jian for a handfull of euros.

It sound terrific. My question is about the period -late 60's?

The weight is light 1877g

I have some old -pre black silkprint stamp- but that one looks to be the older i have.

Thanks to all infos

I have a 20" mini-cup ride, but does somebody knows when the Mini Cup Ride where on catalog? Mine looks to be old.

And an other question: When did Zildjian introduce the black inked (hollow)logo?

Not sure if early middle or late but that was made in the 60's for sure. Nice score. Are there cracks at the hole? Can't see. Hollow inked logos were 70's.

Late 70's-early 80's is my understanding on the hollow logos....

My understanding of Bill Hartrick's work is

Early 60s stamp looks like that and is 1.25" tall, the later 60s stamp looks like that and is 1.5" tall. So you measure the height to tell the difference.

I've been trying to compile dates for later ink logo changes and get consensus dates from the sometimes inconsistent dates which are available.

Avedis Ink History:

1978? (hollow ink ZILDJIAN underneath)

1983 (solid ink ZILDJIAN on top by then is generally agreed)

1993 (the Avedis ink went on -- I'm not sure of the strength of evidence for this one year window)

1994 first laser serial numbers go on (beginning "ID") and I've got a separate list of all of the laser years.

I've got more details and photos but this is just the quick outline.
